Rasel Babu

Ph.D. Candidate

I am a PhD Candidate in the Learning Sciences program at McGill University's Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. My research focuses on the integration of educational technologies in classrooms, with particular attention to the contradictions that influence secondary-level teachers’ adoption of these tools in the teaching-learning process. In 2024, I was honored to receive the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship to support my doctoral studies, alongside several other notable awards for my research.
I hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and M.Phil degree in education from the University of Dhaka. Over the past decade, I have conducted extensive research in the primary and secondary education sectors in Bangladesh, holding senior research positions at esteemed institutions such as the University of Dhaka, BRAC, and BRAC University. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, reports, and book chapters, and I have presented at respected conferences including NELTA, CSSE, and SALTISE.
Additionally, I have taught B.Ed and M.Ed students as adjunct faculty at various universities in Bangladesh from 2012 to 2021. Currently, I serve as a teaching assistant at McGill University for the course “Integrating Emerging Technologies in Classrooms.” My recent publication explores university teachers’ preparedness for online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.
