Jie Gao


Ph.D. Candidate


I am a PhD candidate pursuing the Learning Sciences Program (AI Track) in the Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology, McGill University. I hold a master degree in Learning Analytics at Teachers College, Columbia University. I have more than 5 years of work experience as an educational data specialist, supporting many education companies & organizations (McGraw Hill, Read to Lead, Moonshot Academy, LingoAce, etc.) in the U.S. and China. Beyond that, I founded Data Science and Education Association in Columbia University. I also founded an EdTech community named Tiz EdTech (a member of AWS EdStart)  to support 2000+ educators and 15000+ followers.
Research interests: AI in Education, Learning Analytics, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Adaptive/Personalized Learning.
