Dr. Dubé was interviewed by The Early Show about recent calls from educators Call for a national approach to AI in classrooms. He argued that, while education is a provincial issue, the federal government has a role to play in regulating the AI products that are purchased by and used in schools. He also raised the recent PISA 2025 report showing that adolescents' AI use for schoolwork is hurting their test scores, particularly in science. Over 48% of the teens in the 700,000+ students in the survey reported using AI for schoolwork on a weekly basis. More importantly, those that used it regularly to complete part of their schoolwork showed dramatically lower scores in science.
